As anticipation builds for Avengers: Doomsday, the multiversal epic’s third teaser trailer has officially arrived in theaters.
While the first two Doomsday teasers spotlighted returning Avengers Steve Rogers and Thor, the latest preview shifts the focus to the Fox-era X-Men.
Marvel has already confirmed that several mutants from the 2000s X-Men franchise will appear in Doomsday, including Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Cyclops (James Marsden), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Beast (Kelsey Grammer), and Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming). Exactly how these iconic heroes cross paths with the Avengers, however, is still being kept under wraps.

Now, fans are getting their first glimpse of the legendary mutants’ return.
The X-Men Will Return
The latest Avengers: Doomsday trailer opens inside the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.
“Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t, ‘Are you prepared to die?’ The question is, ‘Who would you be when you close your eyes?’” Magneto muses in voice-over.

After a glimpse of Professor Xavier’s wheelchair, the trailer cuts to a chessboard, where a piece slowly lifts and moves through telepathy.
Charles Xavier and Magneto then embrace, making it clear that the longtime friends are once again fighting on the same side.

The moment is quickly followed by a brief shot of Cyclops unleashing a powerful Optic Blast (an unmistakable nod to the iconic opening of X-Men: The Animated Series) amid destruction caused by a Sentinel.

The teaser closes with the promise: “The X-Men will return in Avengers: Doomsday.”
