McFarlane Toys Announces Nine New Figures

McFarlane Toys are introducing nine new DC Multiverse figures based on different aspects of the DC Multiverse.

The Riddler (Batman: Hush)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

The Riddler is a conflicted criminal. His dreams of wealth and prosperity are often at odds with his love of finding a worthy competitor—namely the Batman—to challenge to a game of mental and physical gymnastics.

Batman Earth-2 (Earth 2 Society)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

A year has passed since Earth-2 was destroyed by the armies of Apokolips. The survivors of the catastrophic tragedy have now made planetfall on a new world, and, with the help of heroes old and new, built a home. But some threats can survive even Apokolips. New super-villains have arisen to capitalize on the confusion, even as heroes like Batman™, Power Girl™, Superman™, Green Lantern™ and The Flash™ struggle to find their place on an unfamiliar world.

Batman (Batman Incorporated)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

The idea came to Batman in something akin to a dream: a global team of Batmen, working together for the common safety of the world. When Batman introduced Batman Incorporated to the world, he did so knowing that this particular team of international heroes would all use the Batman’s methods and would answer solely to him.

Black Mask as Batman (Beneath the Mask)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

In “Beneath the Mask” the inmates of Arkham Asylum have taken over! It’s Black Mask versus Jeremiah Arkham for control of the asylum. But what of the enigmatic Three Beauties, and how does Batman fit into the mad plan? Batman spends the night in the bowels of Arkham Asylum attempting to uncover its mysteries. Plus, the horrifying fate of Black Mask is at last revealed!

Batman with Mobius Chair (Darkseid War) McFarlane Collector Edition #47

Available from McFarlane Toy Store.

As the Darkseid War rages on, Batman’s role in Gotham City and the world alters drastically and he’s forced to accept his new role as God of Knowledge.

Batgirl (DC Classic)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

A presence in Batman’s world ever since she forcibly inserted herself into it, the tenacious Barbara Gordon has spent her life following in the footsteps of her hero father, Commissioner James “Jim” Gordon. While James Gordon has done much to help Gotham City as one of the few honorable cops on the Gotham City Police force, Barbara has done even more as Batgirl. Originally starting her career by imitating Gotham City’s legendary Dark Knight, Batgirl has since become her own woman, fighting crime in an original style, and putting her years of training and brilliant mind to work protecting Gotham City’s under-served neighborhoods.

Scarecrow (DC Classic)

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

Dr. Jonathan Crane has spent as much time lurking in the dark corners of the human psyche as he has hiding in the shadowy parts of Gotham City™. Obsessed with the idea of fear in its many forms, Crane has adopted the role of the Scarecrow™, a living embodiment of things that go bump in the night. A career Super-Villain, Scarecrow lives to clash with the Batman™, intent on making the Dark Knight™ cower in fear.

Failsafe Mega Figure

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

In the process of Batman™ creating failsafe plans to stop Justice Leaguers in the event that one of them went rogue (a process that would later lead to the Tower of Babel incident), Batman’s artificially constructed Zur-En-Arrh™ persona activated and created an android capable of stopping him in case Batman ever took a life. Zur-En-Arrh created Failsafe using technology from various cybernetic villains previously faced by the Justice League™, including Amazo™. Failsafe remained dormant in the Batcave for years until The Penguin faked his own death and framed Batman for homicide. While there were provisions in its programming for Batman being framed, unfortunately, they needed to be activated by the late Alfred Pennyworth™.

Doctor Mid-Nite (Justice Society of America) McFarlane Collector Edition #47

Available from Amazon and Entertainment Earth.

Physician Dr. Charles McNider was asked by police to treat an important witness against mobster “Killer” Maroni. While McNider was treating the dying man, a thug threw a hand grenade at them. McNider was blinded by the explosion. McNider learned that he could now see in the dark, but was blinded by light, much like an owl. He developed special “infrared glasses” that would enable him to see in daylight as well. McNider then adopted the costumed identity of Doctor Mid-Nite and used it to capture Maroni. Doctor Mid-Nite was a member of the All-Star Squadron and spent many years as a member of the Justice Society of America.
