James Gunn has shared a photo showing the completed first draft of the Man of Tomorrow script ahead of its July 2027 release.
Gunn is wasting no time getting the wheels turning on the follow-up to Superman. Announced in early Sept., Man of Tomorrow will be the next installment in the Superman saga of the DCU. Gunn took to social media on Monday to show an image of the completed first draft of the script which is dated for today, Sept. 22, 2025.
It should be noted that Gunn never referred to this movie as a “sequel” to Superman, and has made it clear in several interviews that he has been working on a ‘follow-up’ to that film.
Appearing on Deadline’s Crew Call podcast in August, Gunn said that the story takes place “within the group of characters we’ve already met and Superman is an important element.”
Man of Tomorrow will hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
