
DC Studios has a lot of irons in the fire right now, and keeping up with all of them can be a bit of a chore. This is our monthly update post to help you keep track of everything that is currently going on.
DC Movie Updates
The Authority – Still in development.
The Batman 2 -Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin have turned in the script. Production is set to begin in Jan. 2026 and release on Oct. 1, 2027.
Brave and the Bold – Film will be based on Grant Morrison’s run on Batman. A scriptwriter has been picked, but they are not ready to reveal who it is yet.
Clayface – Tom Rhys Harries was cast as Clayface in June. James Watkins (The Woman in Black) is directing from a script by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) with filming due to begin by Oct. 1. The Release date is set for Sept. 11, 2026.
Dynamic Duo – DC Studios and Warner Bros Pictures Animation are working with Swaybox on a film that will follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. The 6th & Idaho movie is scripted by Matthew Aldrich.
Sgt. Rock – Colin Farrell is still rumored to be up for the title role, but production has been delayed from Summer 2025 to Summer 2026. There is no current release date.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow – Filming has wrapped on the new film as of early May. The film maintains a release date of June 26, 2026.
Superman – Film is slated for release on July 11, 2025 in the U.S., and up to two days earlier in other territories. Special previews are scheduled for July 8.
Swamp Thing – As of the latest update, DC Studios said, “The ball is really in [James Mangold’s] court.”
Teen Titans – Ana Nogueira has turned in a draft of the script.
Wonder Woman – A script is in the works.
DC TV Updates
Blue Beetle Animated Series – In development and Angel Manuel Soto & Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are preparing for a final pitch.
Booster Gold – Original showrunner left the project, and development is continuing under someone else.
Peacemaker – Season 2 will debut on Aug. 21, 2025.
Lanterns – Currently filming and will premiere in early 2026. The cast has grown considerably with six major roles announced: Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan, Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry, Garret Dillahunt as William Macon, and Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe among numerous smaller roles. Nathan Fillion is also rumored to appear as Guy Gardner.
Mister Miracle – Animated series in the works with Tom King serving as the showrunner.
My Adventures With Green Lantern – My Adventures with Green Lantern will follow Jessica Cruz, a high school student who has a Green Lantern ring drop into her life. Jake Wyatt and Stephanie Gonzaga will serve as executive producers.
Paradise Lost – Series set on Themyscira is still in development. James Gunn has said development is “slow moving, but it’s moving.”
The Sandman – Season 2 will release in two parts on Netflix: Volume 1 was released on July 3, 2025, and Volume 2 will arrive on July 24, 2025. A special Death episode will be released on July 31, 2025. This will be the final season of the series.
Starfire – Starfire will follow the famous Teen Titan in the first days after she leaves Tamaran and ventures across space. There she will meet up with a space biker named Crush, a plant lover named Fern, Princess Amethyst of Gemworld. Josie Campbell and Brianne Drouhard will serve as executive producers on the series.
Super Powers – Super Powers will be set at the Alliance School for Heroes and will focus on the new students: Aquagirl, Flash, Green Lantern, Lightning, Plastic Man, and Terra as they learn everything they need to know from Principal Martian Manhunter. Matt Beans will executive produce, and Michael Chang will serve as supervising producer.
Teen Titans GO! – Renewed for season 10.
Waller – Still in development, but the strikes impacted work on it.
