In the lead-up to Avengers: Doomsday, there has been plenty of speculation about the future of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
One of the last original Avengers still active in the MCU, the God of Thunder remains among the franchise’s most popular characters.

In the aftermath of the disappointing reception to Thor: Love and Thunder, Hemsworth has admitted to feeling like he owes fans another Thor solo film.
Still, the actor is keenly aware that Thor fatigue could also set in.

“I don’t want to continue to do it until people are so exhausted that they roll their eyes when they see me come on the screen as that character,” Hemsworth told Entertainment Weekly.
“If an audience wants to see it, and if there’s something that we believe is exciting and fun, then great. I’ve loved being able to reinvent that character a few times. I don’t have the answer yet, but I would love to try and [figure out] how we can do that again and keep it a little unpredictable.”

Hemsworth Weighs In Again
With a year to go until audiences see Thor suit up in Doomsday, Hemsworth was once again asked about his character’s future.
This time, his answer was more ambiguous.

“I don’t know. We’ll see where this one goes,” told the BBC. “We are unpacking that as we speak, and figuring out where each of these characters goes. I’m just thankful for being involved with this one at Marvel, back together with a lot of the old cast, and then the new cast. It’s something I certainly love. We’ll see what happens.”
Which Avengers Will Survive
With the multiversal threat of Doctor Doom looming, Marvel has been open about the fact that some of the MCU’s heroes will not survive Doomsday.
So, while Hemsworth sounds open to playing Thor again, it remains to be seen whether or not he gets the chance.
Hopefully, we will learn more soon.
