Lakshay’s Bollywood debut

Lakshay Lalwani has made a shift from the small screen to the big one. His first feature was in the film Kill. The movie is filled with action sequences and is compared to the legends of the genre, John Wick and Oldboy.

About the movie

Kill was highly appreciated by the critics and follows the life of two commandos on a fast-moving train who are caught up in the heist. The action sequence between the main leads and deadly gang members is admirable. Lakshay portrayed the role of Captain Amrit Rathod, one of the main leads.

Lakshay’s TV career

The actor debuted at the age of 19 in the teen drama Warrior High. He was later the lead of a fantasy romance series, Adhuri Kahaani Hamari, and appeared in Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil. Later, Lakshay starred in India’s most expensive TV show, Porus.

Lakshay’s tough journey in the cinema world

Back in 2019, Lakshay had signed a three-film deal with Dharma Productions. He was first cast alongside Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor in Dostaana 2, but the film ended up being shelved. Then, another one of his projects, Bedhadak with Shanaya Kapoor, was also cancelled.

Lakshay dealt with the setbacks with positivity

The actor revealed that he was very shocked when the movie was cancelled, but he then realized that something like this was not in his control. He revealed that he then decided to stay positive and wait for the right opportunity for himself.

Lakshay underwent months of training

For the movie Kill, Lakshay had undergone 7-8 months of training in martial arts. He said, “The prep for the action went on for about seven to eight months. We used to practice martial arts for four to five hours every day … I used to rehearse every day with 40 goons, fighters, and my co-actors, and there are 40 to 45 killings in the film, so we used to train accordingly.”

Lakshay doesn’t care about titles

The actor revealed that he is not chasing the title of ‘India’s biggest action hero.’ Talking to Cosmopolitan, he said, “I’m excited to do more of what I love: work. These titles will come and go. Also, if I start looking at roles with the intention to be ‘the next something,’ I will only add a lot of pressure on myself, and I don’t work well under pressure.”

Lakshay’s top four films

The actor has revealed that his four favourite picks when it comes to movies are Gangs of Wasseypur, which is a crime comedy; The Lunchbox, a romantic-drama film; Ae Dil Hai Mushkil; and the political thriller Sarkar.
