While Disney’s live-action Moana looks to be in trouble at the box office, the studio won’t have to wait long for another blockbuster.
On July 31, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will swing back into theaters in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The fourth installment in the MCU’s Spider-Man franchise, Brand New Day picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, following Peter Parker as he begins a new chapter after the world’s memory of him was erased.
“Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city as a full-time Spider-Man. But as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced,” the film’s logline reads.

Earlier this week, we brought you the news that Brand New Day was on track for a massive opening weekend.
Now, we have an update on those projections.
‘Brand New Day’ Is Swinging Towards a Strong Debut
According to a new report from Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now tracking toward a domestic opening between $180 million and $190 million.

That represents a fairly significant drop from the $220 million opening that Box Office Theory previously projected for the film.
Nevertheless, Brand New Day is still on track for the biggest opening of 2026 and the second-biggest debut in the Spider-Man franchise, behind only Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s $260 million launch.

Having already sold a record number of presale tickets, Brand New Day is still tracking toward a wildly successful debut.
The only question now is whether the film can reach the coveted $200 million mark.
