Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 2 Early Report

Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film Thug Life hit the theatres on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Although released globally, it did not premiere in Karnataka due to an ongoing Kannada-Tamil language controversy. The absence from Karnataka may have affected its overall box office performance.

According to early data from Sacnilk, the film has collected ₹4.4 crore on its second day (Friday) by 8:30 pm, bringing the total to ₹19.9 crore. The Day 1 collection was ₹15.5 crore, indicating a significant drop in business on Day 2.

Occupancy rates also fell. On Thursday, average occupancy was around 50% during the day and 62% at night. On Friday, morning shows saw only 20% occupancy, afternoon shows 28%, and evening shows around 31%.

The film’s future on OTT has been confirmed. Kamal Haasan stated that Thug Life will be available on Netflix but only after 8 weeks from its theatrical release. The film also marks a reunion between Kamal Haasan and director Mani Ratnam after several years.
