Marvel Studios rocked the multiverse yesterday with the release of the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.
In the brief clip, we saw Thor bring the Fantastic Four to New Avengers Tower, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes square off with the X-Men, and Doctor Doom stop Stormbreaker with just two fingers.

Any concern that fans wouldn’t turn out for Avengers: Doomsday was quickly put to rest yesterday.
First-Day Ticket Sales
In just 24 hours, Avengers: Doomsday sold $16.4 million in premium-format tickets.

That figure was double the first-day sales for Deadpool & Wolverine, which included both premium and traditional screenings.

Then, there are the trailer views.
A Record-Breaking Trailer Launch
It took just 30 minutes for the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer to garner 1 million views.

From there, Marvel managed to keep the momentum going.
Amazingly, the first Avengers: Doomsday trailer was viewed 503 million times in its first 24 hours, making it the second-biggest trailer launch of all time.
The record holder remains Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which racked up 719 million views by breaking its first trailer into smaller clips.
The previous Disney record holder was Deadpool & Wolverine, which was viewed 365 million times.

That number climbed because the trailer debuted during the Super Bowl.
What’s Next?
However you look at it, Avengers: Doomsday looks poised to become a monster hit for Disney and a return to form for Marvel Studios.

The only question now is whether the film can reach the heights of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
Right now, that looks like a real possibility.
