Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Thursday that The Batman: Part II will begin filming in Spring 2026.

In a letter to shareholders on Thursday, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced that the film was set to begin filming in the Spring to meet its announced release date of Oct. 1, 2027.

The Batman Part II script was announced to have been completed on June 27. Original reports had indicated the film would begin production in Jan. 2026, but with the necessary time for pre-production, as well as Robert Pattinson’s very busy schedule, a delay into the Spring is not surprising.

Nothing is known about the plot of the upcoming second film as of yet, but it has been made clear that it will continue to exist in its own universe, separate from the new DC Universe.

The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise received an interim expansion with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.

The untitled The Batman sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
