Part II script reportedly due this month

According to a new report, Matt Reeves is closing in on finishing the Batman: Part II script, and it will be delivered in late May.

The Wrap is reporting that Reeves has been turning in pages for The Batman: Part II and is closing in on wrapping it up. An unnamed source claims that Reeves “has been sending in pages for more than half a year,” and a full draft should be delivered by the U.S. Memorial Day holiday, May 26.

None of this is to say that no one knows what to expect from the film. Speaking with Extra on the Red Carpet for his new movie, Mickey 17, Batman himself, Robert Pattinson, shared some thoughts on the script earlier this year. “I know what it’s about now,” said the actor, “Matt is a very careful writer, but I finally now know what it’s about. It’s very cool. I’m very excited.”

Pattinson has been blunt, however, that the film is taking a while to come together. Speaking with Hero magazine in March about if the film would shoot this year, he said, “I f****** hope so. I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be f****** old Batman by the sequel.”

The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise received an interim expansion with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.

The untitled The Batman sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
