James Gunn has confirmed that work is still underway on a Waller series that would see Viola Davis return to the role of Amanda Waller.
It isn’t time to give up hope on the long-promised Waller series. James Gunn has once again confirmed that the series is still in development, but it just isn’t moving quickly. Speaking with People at the Peacemaker season 2 premiere, Gunn said of the series, “We’re working on it, so we’ll see what happens. Some things have moved faster than others. Waller’s not been the fastest.”
“But I can’t wait to see Viola put on their Waller pants again,” Gunn added.
DC Studios co-chair Peter Safran offered a similar update to The Hollywood Reporter earlier this year, saying, “We’ve taken a couple of cracks at it but still haven’t been able to land. Waller has been a bumpy road.”
The fact that both men are still willing to discuss it shows that the series is still being considered, but it certainly doesn’t mean it’s a lock to ever come to fruition.
