From where the Labubu doll craze began?
The viral Labubu doll craze may be traced back to Hong Kong toy maker Pop Mart, which is famed for its wide-eyed creatures and spooky, mischievous smile. Some time ago, a post on Instagram claimed that these Labubu dolls are related to the ancient demon Pazuzu.
What did Archana Gautam share in the video?
Archana Gautam said, “A relative of mine bought this doll. As soon as she bought this doll, strange things started happening in her house. Her fixed marriage got cancelled. As soon as Laabu was brought, her father died the very next day…Everything gets spoiled…Life gets ruined.”
Archana Gautam and the girl she was with requested people not to bring the Labubu doll, telling them that it is not good and destroys the fortune.
What is Labubu?
Kasing Lung, a Hong Kong-based artist, created Labubu, a fictitious character inspired by Nordic fairy tales, in 2015. The character is notable for its distinct balance of cute, spooky, and elegance; this combination has become its defining appeal.
Labubu rose to prominence after Chinese toy company Pop Mart released the character in its popular ‘blind box’ format in 2019. Customers buy a sealed box without knowing which edition of the doll is inside, which adds a sense of surprise.
