Sunjay Kapur’s demise
Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12. He died in London on Thursday after suffering a heart attack. The industrialist and polo enthusiast was reportedly playing a polo match before he passed away. Sunjay, the chairman of Sona Comstar Ltd., was 53 years old.
His last photo
Now, days after his demise, his last photo before his death has gone viral. The photo was posted by the SUJÁN Indian Tigers Polo Team on Instagram. They shared the photo in his memory before their final match.

‘Sunjay- You will be missed’
In the caption, the team wrote, “Today we play the final of the Cartier Trophy in the memory of our dear friend Sunjay Kapur, who tragically passed away on the field a few days ago. Our Captain and Patron, Jaisal Singh, will mount up with the team to observe a minute’s silence in honour of his dear old friend Sunjay, and then sit out as a mark of respect. This photograph of Sunjay and Jaisal was taken moments before they mounted up to play the semi-finals a few days ago. Sunjay’s last words
Earlier, The Telegraph reported that people who were present during the polo match heard Sunjay saying, “I’ve swallowed something.” This made everyone feel he swallowed some insect. Later, it was revealed that it was bee.
Sunjay swallowed a bee
Sunjay Kapur’s friend and business associate, Suhel Seth told ANI that he died of heart attack after swallowing a bee. He said, “Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England.”
Sunjay’s personal life
Karisma and Sunjay got separated in 2014. However, their divorce was finalised in 2016. The couple had two children together — Samaira who was born in 2005, and Kiaan, born in 2011.
Sunjay’s second marriage
Later Sunjay married model and entrepreneur Priya Sachdev. They got married in a private ceremony in Delhi and are parents to a son named Azarias Kapur.
