Poonam Dhillon
The actress we are talking about is none other than Poonam Dhillon. She was born on 18 April 1962 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Poonam is best known for her 1979 film Noorie.
Poonam hit films
Poonam was for her films like Noorie, Sohni Mahiwal, Teri Meherbaniyan, Samundar, Saveray Wali Gaadi, Karma, Naam and Maalamaal. Poonam Dhillon made her Bollywood debut in the 1978 film Trishul, directed by Yash Chopra, opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

Poonam Dhillon shared an interesting story in an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati about how she landed a role in Yash Chopra’s film Trishul. She revealed that she joined the shooting of Trishul just a day after she took her class X exams.
Miss Young India
However, her journey to stardom began when she won the Miss Young India in 1978. That caught the attention of Yash Chopra and gave her the role in his film. From that on, Poonam never turned back.
Five became superhits
However, Poonam appeared in other films, but it was not do as well as her first film. Later, she worked with superstar Rajesh Khannaon in several films which included Avam, Red Rose, Nishaan, Zamana, Dard and Jai Shiv Shankar. Out of these films, five became superhits.
Poonam in Bigg Boss
Poonam Dhillon took part in reality show Bigg Boss which was hosted by Amitabh Bachchchan and she finished second runner-up. Poonam was last in the 2022 romantic drama Plan A Plan B with actors Riteish Deshmukh and Tamannaah Bhatia.
