Dheeraj Kumar dies at 80

Veteran actor Dheeraj Kumar passed away at the age of 80. Reportedly, he breathed his last after struggling from acute pneumonia. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. It was only on Monday that his family had made a statement saying that his condition was critical.

The entire industry is mourning the loss. Dheeraj Kumar was a well-known name in film, as well as, the TV industry. Over years, he created a successful career as an actor who transitioned into being a producer.

Dheeraj Kumar began his acting journey with the movie Deedar that released in the year 1970. He then appeared in several movies and shared screen space with several top stars. In Roti Kapda Aur Makan, he was seen with Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar and others. His list of hit movies include Raaton Ka Raja, Heera Panna, Shirdi Ke Sai Baba, Kranti, Purana Mandir and many more.

His last Bollywood movie as an actor was Karm Yudh that released in 1985. Dheeraj Kumar had also worked in many Punjabi movies. Reportedly, he had acted in 21 Punjabi movies.

Later, in 1986, he established a Television Production House called Creative Eye Limited. He was the chairman and the managing director of this company. He took up the role of director and producer from here on.
