The Batman Part II script appears to be finished as Matt Reeves and Mattson Tomlin post a picture of it to social media.

After numerous rumors, it appears that The Batman Part II script is indeed finished. Reeves and Tomlin plastered a photo of themselves seated on a couch with a copy of the script in the foreground.

The timing aligns well with several reports that have been circulating regarding when the script would be delivered.

Filming is rumored to kick off in Jan. 2026, which, with this delivery date, seems easy to make should pre-production go smoothly. The biggest hurdle at the moment is that Robert Pattinson needs to film the third Dune movie before he can report back to Gotham City as the Caped Crusader. Production on that film is expected to begin soon as director Denis Villeneuve has signed on to direct the next James Bond film after he wraps the release of the adaptation of Dune Messiah.

Nothing is known about the plot of the upcoming second film as of yet, but it has been made clear that it will continue to exist in its own universe, separate from the new DC Universe.

The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise received an interim expansion with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.

The untitled The Batman sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
