One Marvel Star Will NOT Be Returning For the Upcoming Vision Series

While Marvel Studios has not announced any plot details about their upcoming Vision series, the show’s cast has given us an indication of where things are heading.

When the project was initially announced, the prevailing notion was that the series would further explore Vision’s quest to find himself, and perhaps see the new White Vision reconnect with Wanda.

Since that time, however, a lot has changed.

A Cache of Returning Characters

For starters, Wanda Maximoff seemingly died during the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Then, there is the Vision series cast.

In a surprising move last August, Marvel revealed that James Spader would return as Ultron in the upcoming Vision series.

For those who don’t remember, Ultron’s artificial intelligence, overlayed with the Soul Stone and Jarvis, led to the creation of Vision.

Subsequently, it was revealed that T’Nia Miller would portray Jocasta, another artificial intelligence created by Ultron to be his wife.

Then, it was reported that Emily Hampshire would portray E.D.I.T.H.

With the Vision series set to include Jarvis, Jocasta, and E.D.I.T.H., it seems clear that the show will dive headfirst into artificial intelligence, which is not only an underexplored topic in the MCU but also a timely one in the real world.

F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Looking at the Vision series collection of characters, one AI character was noticeably missing—F.R.I.D.A.Y.

For those who don’t remember, F.R.I.D.A.Y. is an artificial intelligence assistant created by Tony Stark after J.A.R.V.I.S. became part of Vision.

Portrayed by Kerry Condon, F.R.I.D.A.Y. appeared in five MCU films, but has not appeared since 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Naturally, the AI would be a natural fit for the Vision series.

Condon Will Not Return

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Condon was asked if she would reprise her F.R.I.D.A.Y. role in the Vision series.

“It’s not true!” Condon said. “I saw it, and I was like, ‘Who’s saying this?!’ It’s not true, no, no, no… I wouldn’t say no chance, but at the moment it’s not in the cards for me, no.”

While it would have made sense for F.R.I.D.A.Y. to appear in the Vision series, it sounds like it’s not in the cards.

Hopefully, however, we will learn more about the Vision series soon.
