Director Atlee has opened up about his upcoming film starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone. The film is tentatively titled AA22 X A6.
Allu Arjun is one of the most popular South Indian stars. He is also entertaining the Bollywood audience now. He has become the biggest pan-India star and has a huge fan following. People have been eagerly waiting for him to come up with another project. He is all set to collaborate with one of the biggest directors, Atlee. Yes, everyone is waiting for this reunion. Another big reason to be excited is Deepika Padukone joining the project. The project is tentatively titled AA22 x A6.
However, some people have noticed similarities between the poster of Allu Arjun and Atlee’s film AA22 X A6 and Hollywood sci-fi hit Dune. Recently, Atlee was awarded an honorary doctorate from Sathyabama University in Chennai and during his speech he addressed these rumours of his film being copied.
He said that there’s a perception that the films he makes are copied but that is not true. He gave example of Vijay’s character Michael Rayappan from his film, Bigil being inspired by Jeppiaar, the founder and chancellor of Sathyabama University.
He said, “Today, when I got the doctorate and they played music from Mersal (2017), I believe I earned this only through honesty, only through love. I promise today that I will make this country proud.” He further spoke about Allu Arjun, Deepika Padukone’s film. He revealed that Kalanidhi Maran of Sun Pictures is producing it and it is one of the most expensive films to be made in the country.
However, it is still in the budgeting phase. He shared, “Kalanidhi Maran sir (of Sun Pictures) is producing this film. It’s one of the most expensive films to be made in our country. We will be using a lot of new technology to make it. I’m dreaming big, and the budget has yet to be locked. The producer will decide the release date.”
