Speaking at The Emmys, Matt Reeves confirmed that Cristin Milioti will not appear as Sofia Falcone in The Batman: Part II.
Reeves was attending the Emmy Awards in support of The Penguin when he stopped to speak with MTV. He was asked Cristin Milioti will appear in The Batman: Part II. “She’s not in this one, in full disclosure,” replied Reeves. “We were so far along in the story, it might upset the apple cart, lets say, given where the story goes, and what we were exploring.”
Considering she picked up an Emmy for her performance, one has to suspect that they will eventually find a way to integrate her into a future story.
Nothing is known about the plot of the upcoming second film as of yet, but it has been made clear that it will continue to exist in its own universe, separate from the new DC Universe.
The Batman hit theaters on March 4, 2022 and went on to earn $765.95 million dollars globally. The franchise received an interim expansion with the release of The Penguin – an original series with Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oz Cobb from the first film – on Max.
The untitled The Batman sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 1, 2027.
