Even before their theatrical release, the business details of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Thalapathy Vijay’s Jananayagan are making waves online — especially due to a notable ₹10 crore difference in overseas rights.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj with music by Anirudh Ravichander, Coolie is gearing up for a grand release on August 14. With shooting completed and post-production in its final stages, reports reveal that the film’s overseas distribution rights have been sold for approximately ₹85 crore.
Meanwhile, Jananayagan, featuring Vijay in the lead, has also sealed its international rights, reportedly fetching around ₹75 crore. Though both films are backed by star power and high expectations, this ₹10 crore margin has caught fans’ attention.
Interestingly, it is being said that both Rajinikanth and Vijay have been paid a massive ₹200 crore each for their roles in these projects. With such large-scale deals and growing hype, both Coolie and Jananayagan are expected to be major box office hits, both in India and abroad.
