Big Barda, the fearless warrior and former leader of the Female Furies
It is difficult to assign a specific year or issue number to each layout, as there was inconsistency in her costume details — even from issue to issue within the same series she appeared in.
I made several versions and tried to capture the major design changes, such as her skirt, helmet, and most notably the gorget (or collar) of her armor. Around 1990, in MISTER MIRACLE Vol. 2, this element transformed into something resembling alien braids. (I assume, that this was a misunderstanding, but one that has become entrenched over time.)
