With paid previews beginning one day ahead of schedule, Thamma is poised to surpass EDKD at the box office. Just hours before the formal release on October 20, the producers have scheduled special midnight shows.
Thamma vs Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat adavance booking: Two Hindi films will compete for audiences on Diwali. Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s horror comedy Thamma is on one side, while Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa’s Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is on the other. Good bookings will help the two films get off to a strong start at the box office because their theatrical premieres are taking place during a major festival, on October 21. This is the total amount they have so far made from pre-sales.
Thamma vs Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat adavance booking collection
On its first day, Thamma sold over 90,000 tickets and has already made Rs 3 crore. With one day left before its release, its pre-sales total surpasses that of Kesari: Chapter 2, the Bollywood film released this year (Rs 1.84 crore). Though Thamma is a part of the popular Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), which also features blockbusters like Stree 2, Stree, and Munjya, advance reservations are not proceeding as planned. When it comes to advance booking, Thamma is expected to outperform Jaat (Rs 2.59 crore), Son Of Sardaar 2 (Rs 2.77 crore), Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Rs 2.86 crore), and Jolly LLB 3 (Rs 3.23 crore).
Meanwhile, when it comes to advance bookings, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is likewise operating extremely slowly. So far, 32,792 tickets have been sold for the A-rated love movie, bringing in almost Rs 1.8 lakh. In order to have an effect at the box office, EDKD will mostly rely on word-of-mouth and spot bookings due to the lack of promotions.
