Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor have collaborated on a number of movies together, and they frequently talk positively about their close friendship. But did you know that Ranbir once got slapped by Anushka during a film’s shooting? Yes, you heard it right. During the making of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir’s patience was ultimately put to the test following a mishandled slap by Anushka Sharma. On the set of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, a behind-the-scenes video captured the moment. Ranbir and Anushka were discussing their work in the video when something unexpected occurred. Anushka ended up hitting Ranbir multiple times, even though she had to do it for a scene.
What happened when Anushka slapped Ranbir?
Anushka approached Ranbir to apologise after noticing his obvious distress. However, Ranbir was very much upset. “There is a limit to it,” Ranbir said. “I told you not to do it, it’s not a joke.”
Anushka quickly responded, “Did I do it on purpose? Are you really upset?” Ranbir, seen holding a tissue to his face, said, “Yeah, of course, you’re hitting hard.”
Why did Anushka Sharma slap Ranbir?
The Chakda ‘Xpress actress clarified the entire issue and the reasons behind the uncertainty during the filming in a 2016 interview with DNA. She revealed that while that sequence was being filmed, she was initially instructed to give Ranbir a real slap and then told not to, but she forgot in the moment.
The ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ actress said, “So you know how scenes are shot, right? You shoot one actor first and then the other. So, they shot Ranbir first and told me to slap him for real. I slapped him.”
“This scene is very long. So it starts and we are sitting in one place talking and then one slap happens. When they were shooting my part after his, they told me, ‘Don’t slap him for real.’ But I got so lost in the scene that I forgot about it – it happens a lot when I’m shooting my scenes,” she continued.
Anushka added that while it was good to be immersed in a role, this time it did not work in her favour.”That is a nice thing, but in this case, it did not work out so well. I forgot he had begged me not to smack him, and I ended up giving him one on the face. When I slapped him, I was like, ‘Oh shit!’ He was like, ‘Why are you slapping me for real?'”
She then assured Ranbir that it was not intentional at all. She explained “I told him, ‘I already slapped you so many times during the takes, why would I deliberately want to slap you again?’ But I think he was doing some nakhra, pretending to be angry!”

Anushka and Ranbir have always had a positive working relationship, even after the slap incident. Apart from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the two actors costarred in Sanju and Bombay Velvet.
