Sasural Simar Ka actress Dipika Kakar recently underwent a 14-hour long surgery to remove the tumour from her liver. A few days ago, her husband Shoaib Ibrahim shared with fans that Dipika has been diagnosed with a ‘tennis-ball’ sized tumour in her liver. Later, the couple revealed that the actress is now battling stage 2 cancer. On June 3, Dipika Kakar underwent a massive surgery to remove the tumour. Shoaib Ibrahim, in his latest vlog, has shared Dipika Kakar’s latest health update with fans.
Shoaib Ibrahim in his latest vlog revealed that Dipika Kakar is now out of ICU. She was in the ICU for three days and is now on the path of recovery. She has been shifted to a room and has also started walking a little bit. In the video, Shoaib shared that it was a major surgery and everyone panicked as they received no update from the operation theatre for hours. Talking about the surgery, he said, “We all were tensed as doctors had mentioned it would be a long surgery. She was taken in at 8:30 am and she came out of the OT at 11:30 pm. I then met her when they shifted her to the ICU. At 6-7 pm, we all panicked as there was no update from the OT as we had never witnessed such a serious surgery. Thankfully, the doctor had assured me that if they don’t come out for updates, then the surgery is going fine and she will be all well.”
Shoaib Ibrahim also further explained that during the surgery, doctors found stones in Dipika Kakar’s gallbladder. He said that the doctors had to remove her gallbladder and have cut a small portion of her liver as the tumour was cancerous. Since liver is self-restorative organ, doctors have informed them that it will heal with time. Shoaib Ibrahim also thanked fans and well-wishers who prayed for Dipika Kakar’s well-being and speedy recovery.
