Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman team up this December

At the DC All In: What’s Next panel at San Diego Comic Con this Thursday, the creative crew present confirmed the first crossover in the Absolute Universe: Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman.

Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman) confirmed this on his Instagram, with an image of the two and the caption:

A holiday gift to you, coming in Absolute Wonder Woman #15, releasing this December.

Hayden Sherman, notably the artist on Absolute Wonder Woman, followed up with a post of his own with a high quality version of the image:

ANNOUNCED: Absolute BATMAN and WONDER WOMAN will meet for the first time in ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #15!

Out December 24th, a lil’ holiday gift!

We don’t know much more about the crossover, but my guess is that it might have something to do with Absolute Evil releasing this October. This one shot will feature a meeting of the big bads of the Absolute universe, with some already seen in books, and some who have yet to be revealed.

Could this crossover be the first step towards an Absolute Justice League? For now it seems that Batman and Wonder Woman would make the best team, but it does seem difficult to see how characters like Martian Manhunter would fit into a JL. As we enter the second year of the Absolute line, you can certainly see how this is the first step to something greater.
