MJ Has Moved on and Ned Has a Spider-Man Theory in First ‘Brand New Day’ Clip

Before the Marvel multiverse collides in Avengers: Doomsday, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will swing back into action this summer in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

The fourth installment in the MCU Spider-Man series will see Peter set out on his own after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which caused the world to forget who he was.

This time, however, Holland will be joined by Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

“Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced,” the film’s logline reads.

Marvel Shares a First-Look at Brand New Day

With just months to go until the film swings into theaters, audiences at CinemaCon were treated to a first look at Brand New Day.

In the preview, Peter and Ned unexpectedly run into each other at a bodega. Peter later follows his former friend to a college party, where he learns that Ned has been trying to figure out Spider-Man’s identity.

“He actually saved me and my friend’s lives in high school,” he says. “Ever since, I’ve been trying to figure out who he is. Not to unmask him to the world, just to thank him.”

Eventually, Ned reveals that he has narrowed his search down to two people: Flash Thompson and Professor Harrington.

“We know he’s definitely from Queens,” he explains. “I’ve been able to narrow it down to two prime suspects. If you knew who they were, it would really blow your mind.”

The clip concludes with Peter introducing himself to MJ under a new alias.

“I’m just a neighbor from across the hall,” he says, handing her a bouquet of flowers.

The First Poster Has Arrived

Alongside the first look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Marvel has also released the film’s first poster.

The image features a close-up of Spider-Man’s mask, with New York City and MJ reflected in his eyes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
