While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had uneven success at the box office of late, Marvel Animation is in the midst of a renaissance.
After returning to animation with What If…?, Marvel has delivered a string of shows that have resonated with both fans and critics.
In just the last couple of years, we have seen X-Men ’97 revive the classic X-Men: The Animated Series, Eyes of Wakanda expand the MCU timeline, and Marvel Zombies push the boundaries of animated storytelling.

Then, of course, there is Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’
As a quick recap, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man follows the adventures of a teenage Peter Parker as he tries to balance life as a crime fighter with the everyday challenges of being a high school student.

Unlike the version of Spider-Man portrayed by Tom Holland in the MCU, this take on Peter Parker is not mentored by Tony Stark, but instead guided by Norman Osborn.
By the end of Season 1, Peter and Doctor Strange had defeated the Venom symbiote, though Norman Osborn managed to secure a sample. Meanwhile, Lonnie Lincoln fully embraced his identity as Tombstone, and it was revealed that Peter’s father is still alive and in prison.

Needless to say, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next season on Disney+.
