The Walt Disney Company and Mondelez are teaming up for a heroic collaboration.
Beginning February 2, shoppers will be able to find special-edition packages of Marvel-themed Oreos in the snack aisle.

The new Marvel Oreo Stuff of Legends cookies will feature the beloved sandwich cookies embossed with fan-favorite characters from the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four franchises.
Even Spider-Man will make an appearance.
“We ended up developing 32 unique embossed cookies. 32 different characters across those 4 properties of Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, and Fantastic Four,” says Matt Foley, vice president of Oreo at Mondelez.

“We’ve never done anything close to that from a scale perspective.”
A Long Time Coming
According to Mondelez, the development of the Marvel-themed Oreos began two years ago. Ever since the company released its special-edition Star Wars Oreos, Marvel had been firmly in its sights.

“Much like Marvel, Oreo is a trusted and beloved brand, and this collaboration brings iconic Super Heroes into people’s homes and everyday lives in a way that is innovative in the consumables space as well as authentic to the Marvel Universe.”

To ensure the cookie characters looked authentic, Oreo teamed up with famed Marvel artist Todd Nauck.
An Interactive Story
In total, there will be four Marvel-themed Oreo packages released.
Interestingly, however, only three of the packages will hit store shelves on February 2. The fourth package is being held back by Marvel villains.

To unlock the final container, fans will be encouraged to scan QR codes on their Oreo packages, then register and vote on which route a truck should take to avoid danger.
Each vote also enters fans into a sweepstakes, where they could win a $1,400 check, a $500 Disney gift card, or a $100 Oreo.com digital code.
