Saiyaara movie has become a box office hit. There are a lot of fan reaction videos that have also drawn attention. Varun Badola has now commented on film’s promotions.
Saiyaara starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has become a blockbuster hit. The movie has crossed the mark of Rs 300 crore at the Indian box office. The euphoria around the film left many surprised. Though the stars did not carry out extensive promotions of the film, reaction of fans from the theatres drew everyone’s attention. On social media, videos of fans crying, falling on the ground, tearing shirts and more went viral. A video also showed a man watching Saiyaara in theatre with an IV drip. Though the makers of the movie maintained that all of it was organic, Varun Badola seems to have a different opinion.
Varun Badola speaks on Saiyaara’s post release promotions
In an interview with entertainment news portal SCREEN, Varun Badola spoke about Saiyaara going big at the box office and also took a subtle dig at the PR team of the film. He stated that when Saiyaara was in filming stage, nobody expected the movie to go so big. However, when it blew up at the box office, the team realised that Saiyaara has gone big. He mentioned that by third or fourth day, people were talking about Saiyaara adding that the promotions team went a little overboard. He was quoted saying, “By the third or fourth day, the film was being talked about. I saw the euphoria on Instagram. Log jo chudiyaan tod rahe hai, chaatiyaan peet rahe hai (People were breaking bangles and beating their chests). I think the promotions team went a little overboard… putting IV drips. Those people must have been told to give content. Thank god, people didn’t get their legs broken and go crawling to see the film.” He also exclaimed that promotions of the film is good but only to a certain level.
However, Varun Badola also acknowledged that a movie cannot make such money only on the basis of promotions. He shared that people have gone to watch Saiyaara and have liked it, leading to its success.
Saiyaara currently is the second highest grossing movie of 2025. The movie has managed to beat biggies like Sikandar, Raid 2 and others.
