At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, writer Joshua Williamson (Superman, Robin) announced that he would be teaming up with artist Dan Mora (Justice League Unlimited, Batman/Superman: World’s Finest) this November to bring us Knightfight. The story will be a tie-in to the upcoming DC K.O. event featuring all of DC’s heroes going up against each other in a fighting tournament orchestrated by Darkseid.

Owing to the time traveling nature of the event, Knightfight will see Batman travel to alternate futures where the various Robins have become the new Batman. Williamson stated that “One of Batman’s biggest fears is: what will happen to his children?”, and that Batman will have to fight each of his former sidekicks that have taken his place in his absence.
While we don’t know many details yet, apparently this is an idea that has been floating around for a while. According to an interview with Gamesradar+ in 2024, writer Tom King said that “Knight Fight” was first brought up at a retreat with various Batman creators:
[…] The other half goes back to a retreat a long time ago, a sort of famous retreat, with me, Scott Snyder, Becky Cloonan, and James Tynion, and we were trying to plan a Batman event. So we jokingly came up with something called ‘Knight Fight,’ Knight with a ‘K,’ and the joke pitch was that all the Bat-characters would get together for a tournament.
