In a new interview with Superman director James Gunn, he has confirmed that there are still additional upcoming unannounced projects.
Entertainment Weekly has published a lengthy interview with James Gunn about not only Superman but numerous other DCU projects.
One of the first things to stand out is that he has confirmed the existence of multiple projects fans are not yet aware of. “My favorite thing has not been announced at all,” said Gunn. He also stated that his next “script people don’t know about.”
He also confirmed there is another mystery project that dates back quite a way. “There was one thing that I knew about from the very beginning, that when I pitched to David Zaslav what the DCU would be, I pitched to him, but we did not announce in that first meeting because I felt like it was too easy to rip off by another company. And so that’s one of the main things. ”
There is also finally confirmation that the upcoming Clayface movie is set in the DCU, but when asked if it’s the same one we saw in Creature Commandos, Gunn said, “I think that everyone will find that out.”
The overall vibe throughout the interview is that there is a ton of DC stuff in various stages of production, but what project will be next still remains in the air at this time.
The overall interview is worth checking out as he discusses his current personal rules on what he will debunk online, and why he seems to be so active on social media compared to other Hollywood executives and creatives.
Superman will hit theaters in wide release on July 11, 2025.
