BLACKPINK hints at releasing new music before DEADLINE World Tour?

Fans of K-POP all over the world seem to be having a great year, be it the news of the comeback of popular boy band BTS or Jackson Wang doing a tour in India, fans all around the world have more reasons to celebrate this sudden wave of K-pop music popping off again, as the popular K-POP band BLACKPINK recently hinted at releasing new music before they begin their much-awaited World Tour DEADLINE.

The K-pop quartet group, consisting of singers Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, might be releasing new music ahead of their upcoming 2025 DEADLINE World Tour, which starts on July 5 at Goyang. It was mentioned in Busan Ilbo’s article about the upcoming girl group musical releases. They reported, “Girl group BLACKPINK will also release a new song as early as this month and begin full group promotions,” but there were no mentions of an album creation or an album release. The speculation has now re-sparked discussions of the musical comeback being just a single and not a full-length album, which might have left some fans disappointed. The previous instance of another speculation happened when YG Entertainment’s General Producer Yang Hyun Suk announced plans for the label’s girl groups in May. He said BLACKPINK’s new “song” could be “announced soon,” without any hint of an album.

The repeated circulation of rumors of the popular girl band releasing a song has now left the fans void of anticipation, as they demand clear and concrete proof of the song’s release. According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK began filming the music video for the new song on June 6. Fans speculate that if it were scheduled to be released by the end of this month, an official notice would have been issued by now. A teaser or promotional schedule for it would also have been released.
