360º Contributor of the Month – March – 360Cities Blog

Jeffrey Martin is one of the earliest members of 360Cities 😉. Founding the project back in September 2008, he has played a pivotal role in the evolution of interactive panoramic imagery.

In February alone, he published an incredible 172 new panoramas, adding to his staggering total of 4,739 panoramas and 2 videos. His recent contributions span Prague, the Czech Republic, the USA, and the Netherlands, reinforcing his passion for capturing the world in 360º detail.

A Journey Through 360º Photography

Jeffrey’s story in panoramic photography dates back to the early 2000s, when he first experimented with panorama stitching software on a Canon Digital Elph. What started as a curiosity quickly became a mission—he envisioned creating a virtual tour of Prague, long before such technology was widely accessible.

This vision materialized as prague360.com, one of the internet’s first map-integrated 360º photography websites, predating Google Street View by two years. When the Google Maps API became available, prague360.com evolved into 360Cities.net, which soon became the go-to platform for panoramic photographers worldwide.

Beyond 360Cities, Jeffrey has continued to push the boundaries of the field. He remains deeply involved in the industry, consulting on camera hardware, VR, and 360º imaging while maintaining his love for gigapixel photography, especially from skyscrapers overlooking vast cityscapes.

His passion for immersive photography has not only helped document the world but also inspired and empowered others to explore it through the lens of 360º imagination. Check out Jeffrey’s latest work!
